Lumbee River EMC created a scholarship program to help students continue their education. Since the program began, LREMC has invested over $1,000,000 in scholarships to support students in our community.

New to scholarships? Here is the simplest way to think about it:
- You apply online.
- If selected, Lumbee River EMC sends the money directly to your school.
- The funds help pay for education costs (tuition, fees, etc.).
Deadline + who can apply
- Deadline: First Friday of March
- You can apply if you are a Lumbee River EMC member, or if your parent/guardian is a member (the account must be in their name).
- You must start school in the fall of the year you receive the scholarship.
Scholarship options
Pick the scholarship that matches the type of school you plan to attend.
Lucy Smith, John S. O'Briant, Thomas Wade Bethea, and Elias Rogers Scholarships
Open to any high school senior attending an accredited four-year college or university in the fall.
J.W. Hunt Scholarship
Open to any high school senior attending an accredited four-year college or university. Preference may be given to students pursuing an agri-business curriculum. (Requires the Agri-Business Scholarship Application.)
J. McN. Gillis Scholarship
Open to any high school senior and non-traditional students planning to attend a two-year college or technical school.
How the money is paid
Scholarships must be used for educational costs. Checks are made payable to the school by Lumbee River EMC.
