The annual meeting of members is a gathering of members/owners of the corporation. The meeting’s primary reason is to provide our members/owners the opportunity to have their voices heard. As a member/owner, you have a voice in how the corporation operates, and at the end of the day, we are accountable to you, not outside investors. The annual meeting is held in October of each year and typically includes the following activities:

  • Registration gifts for registering members
  • Entertainment
  • Election of director(s) whose terms are up for renewal or to fill vacancies on the board of directors
  • Review of the corporations’ annual report
  • Discussion of new projects and activities
  • Open forum to discuss and address issues or concerns of the membership
  • Door prizes (after the corporate governance process)

Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at
our Head Quarter Facility Located at 6092 NC HWY 711, Pembroke, NC 28372.

  • Last Day for Petitions - Friday, August 20 2021 - 4:00 PM
  • C&E Committee Meeting - Monday, Aug. 23 2021 - 4:00 PM
  • Mailing of Official Notice - Thursday, September 23, 2021
  • Annual Meeting - Tuesday, October 12, 2021 - Drive-Thru Voting from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Business Meeting - Tuesday, October 12, 2021 - 7:30PM

Directorate districts that are up for election in 2021 are:

    • District 3 (1 seat): Orrum, Smyrna, Britts, Lumberton, East Howellsville, West Howellsville, Whisarts, Saddletree, St. Pauls, and Philadelphus Townships
    • District 4 (1 seat): Burnt Swamp, Pembroke, and Raft Swamp Townships
    • District 6 (2 seats): Raeford, McLauchlin, Seventy-First, Antioch, and Stonewall Townships

How to Become a Director:

Lumbee River EMC is a cooperative owned by the members we serve.  Every year we have an annual meeting of the members for the purpose of electing Directors, hearing and passing upon reports covering the previous fiscal year, and transacting such other business as may properly come before the meeting (LREMC Bylaws, Article IV, Section 4.01).
