Every year from January 1 through March 31, Lumbee River EMC seeks middle school applicants for Touchstone Energy Sports Camp Scholarships.

Lumbee River EMC awards scholarships to one boy and one girl to attend two of the state’s largest college campuses. Young women can apply to attend the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball camp at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, and young men can apply to attend the Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Rules

  • At the time of the application process, the entrant's parent(s) or guardian(s) must be members of Lumbee River EMC or live on our lines. Regarding Eligibility: Entrants must be the child or legal ward of a Lumbee River EMC member or must be the child/ward of persons living on our lines. Therefore, if your parents are Lumbee River EMC members (the account must be in their name), regardless of residency, you are eligible.
  • The entrant must be in the sixth, seventh or eighth grade during the time of application process.
  • The entrant must complete an application and submit a typewritten, double-spaced essay of 250 words in length. Applications must be received or postmarked by March 31, 2020.

Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Camp: June 21-24, 2020

These applications are only for a scholarship to attend camp. North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives do not operate either camp. For information specifically about the basketball camps, please contact UNC or N.C. State athletics directly.
