Payments & Service Reconnects
Safety is #1 at Lumbee River EMC. Employees work hard every day to safely bring our members reliable, affordable energy. As technology continues to develop, new doors open for way to improve our operations for the safety of our employees.
Beginning March 1, 2015, Lumbee River EMC will no longer accept any payments in the field from our members. Today, many options exist for you to conveniently pay your electric bill including on-line, over the phone and at many retail places such as grocery stores and other businesses. With the various ways to now pay your bill, Lumbee River EMC can reduce employee exposure to the dangers that exist in today’s society by eliminating to collections of payments in the field.
In addition, beginning March 1, 2015, LREMC will only reconnect accounts during the hours of 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. All same day reconnect payments must be received and verified by LREMC prior to 9:00 PM. Please be advised that payments made at retail stores or other businesses may not be credited to your electric account the same business day, therefore LREMC can not verify those payments until they are in fact credited to your electric account. If your account has been disconnected for non-pay, please call our office to confirm that LREMC has received your payment and request for reconnect.
Additional fees will continue to apply to those reconnects initiated after 2:00 PM. (Please reference the schedule of fees listed below.) Restricting employee work days to 13 hours or less will help ensure our employees have the opportunity to be rested when they report to work the next day.
