North Carolina's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are giving deserving students the opportunity to attend two renowned NC basketball camps again in 2007. The scholarships are being offered to females in grades 6-8th for the Kay Yow Basketball Camp and to males in grades 6-8th for the Roy Williams Basketball Camp. NC's Touchstone Energy Co-ops will send over 50 students to the camps, which are held at North Carolina State University and at the University of North Carolina.

Kay Yow, coach of the Wolfpack women's basketball team, will instruct the camp with the help of her staff and current players. Roy Williams, coach of the 2005 national champion Carolina Tar Heel men's basketball team, will conduct his camp with his staff and current players. Both camps will work closely with each camper to develop skills that will benefit the young athletes on and off the court.

Winners of the Touchstone Energy Kay Yow Basketball Camp scholarship will attend the overnight camp in Raleigh from June 24-28, 2007. Winners of the Touchstone Energy Roy Williams Basketball Camp scholarship will attend the overnight camp in Chapel Hill from June 23-27, 2007. Campers must have permission from a parent or guardian to attend camp and must provide their own transportation to and from the camp.

Applications for both camps will be accepted from January through March 30, 2007. Winners will be announced by May 1. Applicants will be judged on their academics, extra-curricular activities and an essay that must be submitted with the application.
